BRAIN
CORPORATION
One of my goals during my time at Brain was to refresh the overall design to follow design trends in Big Tech. Brain offered a line of robotic software solutions (autonomous mobile robots, aka AMRs) for workforce labor by automating floor scrubbers, vacuums, and even inventory scanners. Our mission was to help companies and their employees with menial tasks, not to take away their jobs, and with some protesting against the automation of labor I wanted to combat that by humanizing our brand and creating a friendly and approachable social media presence. Examples of this include fun social media posts (animated videos, social cards, etc.), leading a recruiting campaign highlighting company benefits by shooting and editing employee testimonials and designing posts, designing isometric illustrations of our robots, and more.
ROBOT MACHINE BRANDING
A project I worked on at Brain was branding the Gen3 AMRs (named Monarch) and creating mock-ups of the machine in retail and warehouse environments. Working with 3D CAD software for the first time was a challenge, but I enjoy experimenting with new mediums. For the machine, I wanted the outcome to be clean and modern while still adhering to our branding guidelines. I approached a minimal all-white look with the company's signature orange accent and redesigned the BrainOS logo for Gen3 robots (see my logo work in detail here). Compared to the AMRs Brain offers, Monarch, an inventory scanning solution, is a much sleeker and modern product. Included are concept sketches for Monarch's look when branded for clients like Walmart.
I also designed the controller for the robot to be used to train a route or to manually move it. I branded it to look similar to the machine and added the initial concept sketches and finalized sketches below (I do not have access to the finished product or prototype).
ISOMETRIC ILLUSTRATIONS
Following the trend with other tech companies, we established isometric illustrations as part of our branding guidelines. I added to the existing fleet of robot illustrations we had in our library to include the robot mascot, the Gen3 vacuum, and the Monarch scanning tower.
INFOGRAPHIC DESIGNS
Working with the Product Team, I designed infographics to educate our customers on our products. Included are screenshots of the design, but the full infographic is viewable here:
RECRUITING CAMPAIGN
To promote the open positions at Brain, I designed a recruiting campaign by creating the messaging, designing social cards, animating, shooting, and editing videos, and photographing new hires to post. To view more recruiting videos other than the ones I included, click here and here.
BOOTH DESIGNS
I designed booth designs for several trade shows (including National Retail Federation, Interclean, etc.), working with vendors from New York City to Amsterdam, Tokyo, Sydney, and more. I also worked with the teams at Google to design decks for the Google Next conference and created videos for them to display at their 2023 NRF booth alongside Brain.
OTHER DESIGN UPDATES
Along with updating the company's branding (the posters I illustrated and designed directly below are an example), I also refreshed the look and feel of their online resources, such as e-books and blog images. To target potential customers, I designed e-books to reach them in their respective industries (in this case, schools and retailers). The e-books and blog graphics before I joined the company were outdated and clunky, while the ones I designed were minimal, attractive, and eye-catching.
I included screenshots taken from the company website of the e-books and blogs. To view and download the ebooks, click this link: https://braincorp.com/type/ebook/
